Fire Life Safety Systems Commissioning and Pretesting
TSI performs commissioning and pre-testing services related to building fire alarm systems and sprinkler systems. Our services are performed as an independent third party and are performed in advance of any final acceptance testing/inspections by governmental inspectors/acceptance authorities. Once TSI confirms all systems are functinoning as they should our Owner/Developer/General Contractor clients can be certain their systems will pass their critical fire life safety inspections the first time around saving valuable time and money associated with rescheduling inspections. This includes helping to avoid any potential liquidated damages associated with project delays caused by failed inspections. Further, TSI provides our clients the real story/status of the completion of the systems we inspect thereby eliminating the fingerpointing common at this juncture of the project. By eliminating the fingerpointing and ensuring first time inspection acceptance our clients gain credibility with their clients and the governmental acceptance authorities smoothing the way for future inspections. Our pre-testing/commissioning services include:
- Fire alarm commissioning and pre-testing as required by the Army Corps of Engineers
- NFPA 72 fire alarm code compliance, inspection, pre-testing and acceptance testing
- NFPA 72 fire alarm record of completion inspections and testing
- Witness authority for code compliance testing as required for fire alarm and suppression/sprinkler systems
- Fire and smoke damper inspections and verification
Independent Testing Services
TSI has the capabilities to perform independent testing and verification on any building mechanical, electrical, plumbing or fire life safety system. The systems we are asked to test on a regular basis include variable air volume (VAV), air conditioning systems, air conditioning central plants, air conditioning hydronic systems, stairwell pressurization/fire smoke control and related fire life safety systems, HVAC and lighting control systems and sound and vibration testing for mechanical systems. We also perform independent HEPA filter leak testing and clean room certification for the medical, pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries. Additionally for those clients trying to determine building, room or duct leakage rates required for LEED certification, Energy Star certification, US Army Corps of Engineers or just to maximize building energy performance we perform commercial and residential blower door testing and duct blast testing. For LEED or other projects TSI also provides lighting level testing (LEED IEQ Credit 8.1) and indoor air quality (IAQ) testing services (LEED IEQ Credit 3.2).
